Safety Watch choose only premium alarms that are particularly suited to the Queensland environment and have less than a 1% failure rate. This helps to alleviate most beeping alarm issues for tenants.
However, due to environmental factors beyond our control there will still be occasions when alarms may go off and there is no threat of fire.
To alleviate anxiety for both tenants and property managers we have implemented a clear process for troubleshooting nuisance alarms.

1/ CHECK THERE IS NO FIRE Please ensure your tenant has thoroughly checked the property to ensure there is no fire. |

2/ DIRECT YOUR TENANT TO THEIR TROUBLESHOOTING CHEAT SHEET We leave a troubleshooting cheat sheet at the property that you can direct your tenant to. If they cannot locate this card they can download a copy here |

3/ LODGE A WORK ORDER Lodge a work order with SWA with “URGENT BEEPING ALARM” in the subject and include as much information as possible. |

4/ TROUBLESHOOT BY PHONE Our first approach will always be to attempt to resolve the issue by phone with the tenant as this is most efficient and minimises disruption to the tenant and agency. From here, there are several scenarios that will follow. |
SCENARIO 1 – Tenant unable to be contacted after 48 hrs
|
|
SCENARIO 2 – Resolved over phone with tenant
|
|
SCENARIO 3 – Further investigation required
